Recently I looked into work at home assembly jobs. These are jobs that have you put things together for them or send out mailings. The problem here is there are a lot of scams; just like other work at home jobs. A lot of them require you to put down a fee before they will send you any thing to assemble; they don’t trust you any more than you trust them. Why are they going to waste their time and money sending you something you may take one look at and change your mind about. Or sometimes they just want your money and wont pay you no matter what. I did find some that seem legit however these jobs require you have strong attention to detail. You also need to have the ability to follow instructions to the letter otherwise after you’ve completed the project and sent it back to them, they may send it back to you asking you to redo it before you get paid. These kinds of jobs require your work be critiqued and examined to make sure your work is up to their standards and that you’re worth paying. If they don’t like it they may send it back to have you fix and sometimes this process can take a while; if they EVER like your work. I read one review of a woman who said that it took five months before she finally got paid. She said that the company sent her work back once but because the review process took so long it was five months before receiving any sort of payment.
If you know of any good work at home assembly jobs let me know and I’ll post them here. The two I found that seemed legit you may want to do some more research on because like I said the review on one of them wasn’t THAT good but if done correctly they pay.
http://www.disciplescross.com/ - I believe I’ve posted this one before. I haven’t actually found or looked up a review for this. So you may want to check the BBB online or look for blogs that review the company before trying. You create cross necklaces for the company and they buy them back from you.
Tiny Details is the company that takes a while to pay. They ask you to make doll house items so they are VERY tiny and could be difficult to work with. Tiny Details Review - this is the review that said it took five months to get paid. I thought it was the best review.
ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH. I can’t stress that enough, it’s not that hard and it’s the most important thing. Also remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The best way to avoid a work at home job scam is to not get involved in the ones that are asking for cash. However if you do find one that you’d like to learn more about and you’ve searched all over the web for good and bad reviews you may also want to check out the Better Business Bureau online. If you’ve been scammed by a company you should also visit their site and let them know all you can and submit a review. This will hopefully help others and keep them from being scammed as well.
Do you have a myspace account? Sign in and go to the classifieds and search for jobs in your area. I found a whole bunch of work at home jobs in my area this way as well as http://dayjobfinder.com/ - go to this site and type in “work at home” and they’ll give a list of work at home jobs as well.
I believe I’ve talked about it before but I’ve been looking into WealthyAffiliate.com a lot lately. When I decide to do this I’ll be sure to blog about my experience but every review I’ve read is positive. The only few negative ones I have found are from people who are too lazy to do any work/reading or from those who are trying to sell you a similar product. Wealthyaffiliate.com though is a university that teaches you how to make money at home while charging a monthly fee. Everyone of the sites I’ve read has stated it’s not a get rich quick scam, the site itself even states that they don’t guarantee you’ll make money but they guarantee to teach you proven techniques and support to make money online.
If you’ve signed up and have any comments you should let us know about your experience.

I want to apologize, I’ve been busy so this blog isn’t as active as I’d like it to be; don’t post as often as I’d like. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to post more than once a week. Here are some things I’ve looked into though to keep it going.
Are you creative? Do you like to scrapbook, paint, sew or anything else? Why don’t you produce your favorite things in large numbers and open an online shop to sell your items. Might as well get paid to do what you like right?
Here are some no fee online marketplaces.
http://blujay.com/
http://www.buyitsellit.com/
http://www.ecrater.com/
If you need creative ideas the possibilities are endless; painting, sculpting, scrap booking, photography. Sewing things like purses or clothes; things people need. You can also give your crafts away as gifts and attach a web address for them to purchase more on their own. Be sure to upload photos to your online shop otherwise people most likely wont make a sale.
Amazon Mechanical Turk is another place to look for work at home. You’re completing tasks that computers just can’t do.

I’m not sure if these listings require a degree. I did a quick look and couldn’t find anything on it. You could apply if this job interests you and see if they respond back or simply send them an email. They do usually require you type a certain number of words per minute though. (WPM = Words Per Minute)
http://www.waywithwords.info/index.php?m=1 - They work in radio, TV, Market research, and more.

One company that I recently spent some time looking into is Wealthy Affiliate. Now I have not yet joined myself, I will. But I wanted to share it with the rest of you.
http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/
Wealthy Affiliate provides you with support and training; they teach you how to make money online. From all the blogs and posts I’ve read on this company it’s not a get rich scam and it does take work. The more time you put into it the more you’ll make. I’ve also read in a number of blogs and posts that if you put the time into it, it will pay for itself. (Most claim to have made about $200 in the first month but it picks up after that.)
Now it’s important to know this is a learning tool, a university that teaches you the basics. It’s for beginners and experts. It costs $39 dollars a month or $29 if you pay for the year in advance.
I did a pretty long thorough search yesterday and could find very little that was said badly about this company so I’d recommend looking into it yourself. (Look into, don’t just take my word please!)

Another type of site is the GPT sites; stands for ‘get paid to’. You can get paid to read emails, blog, play games, take surveys, and more. You need to be careful of some of these sites because just like some other work at home sites there are a lot of scams. I personally don’t like these kind of sites because they flood your email with spam and constantly call you. You’re required to give them the correct information too otherwise you wont get paid for it and it could cause your account to get deleted. I received phone calls at the most random times, like 11 at night and even after filling out the survey some required I clicked “read” in an email to prove it was my account. Not everyone is unhappy with these kind of sites though and if you’re looking for one I recommend looking into cashcrate.com.

Did you know you can submit your web sites to places like www.google.com or www.yahoo.com with out having to pay? Submitting your site doesn’t cost a thing, advertising on them however does.
You can also get paid for putting their advertisements on your page. You could get paid for people going to your site and when someone clicks on the advertisement. Sounds good doesn’t it? You can read more about it at www.google.com/adsense or check out www.yahoo.com for their programs. Just be sure to read their policies and follow their guidelines.

I don’t think I can stress enough to be careful with all work at home jobs. I think the best advice would be to treat everything like a scam until proven otherwise. Don’t expect that myself or anyone else has done the research for you; just because it’s posted here doesn’t mean you shouldn’t research it. Just because it is found on television or in the news paper or on an advertisement on myspace/facebook or whatever else you use doesn’t make it legit. It’s also important to read the fine print because even though it states it’s a one time fee of $14 dollars, or has been reduced to $1 doesn’t mean they wont continue to take out $75 dollars from your account each month.
http://www.scamxposer.com - I will probably post this site a number of times so it can be easily found. (It’s also in my favorite links on the side.) www.yahoo.com www.google.com use these sites to your advantage! It’s not as hard as it may seem to search for the job you’re looking into. Just type in the name of the company or the company web site (minus the www and the .com or whatever else they may use) and you should get a ton of information.

CraigsList is a good place to look at work at home opportunities as well as little jobs you can do to make some extra money. I’ve seen acting or “extra” jobs as well as donating sperm or doing research to earn extra money. Now I’m not sure how legit these sites are so please be careful. Just because you find a listing in the paper or on craigslist doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do your research. These places are not required to check on these listings and have no idea if they are legit when they advertise them.
about.com and ehow.com along with other blogs like this are also other ways to find legit work at home jobs.
